NEES Showcase Day

The program for Day Two centers on the theme of showcasing the NEES consortium.
The Showcase Day was developed with two audiences in mind: the NEES community and representatives from agencies or organizations with interest in NEES who are based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Session Themes/Topics
Broadening Participation


Two broadening participation themed sessions will be presented during the Annual Meeting:
  • Broadening the Domestic NEES Research Community:
    Collaboration with domestic organizations having common objectives.
  • International Collaborations:
    World Forum report and guest participation from the international community.

NEESit Session

During this plenary session on Day One, staff from NEESit will conduct two important and useful demonstrations:
  • End-to-end data flow processes; and
  • Remote participation in research experimentation.

NEESit End-User Workshop

This a "hands-on" walk-through of the NEESit tools and services will address tools that will enable you to:

  • Share and manage research data (NEEScentral)
  • Participate in a remote experiment (Real-Time Data Viewer)
  • Collaborate with researchers (WebEx)
  • Conduct novel experiments and simulations

This workshop is highly recommended for new NEESR awardees.

Issue Forums

The Issue Forums sessions will feature group discussions on three separate topics selected by each of NEESinc's technical committees (the EOT, IT Strategy, and Site Operations Committees).

The topics will be introduced in a plenary session, followed by group discussions during three concurrent breakout sessions. Each breakout group will be asked to provide a report on their discussions during a plenary session on the final day of the Annual Meeting.
