How To Apply
There are five types of membership in NEES Consortium, Inc.Applicants are admitted to membership by approval of the NEESinc Board of Directors.
Choose the type of membership appropriate for you and your institution:
- Individual Members must be individuals who are (or desire to be) actively engaged in earthquake
engineering research, education, or implementation. They must be committed to the goals of the
Consortium, and have the minimum qualifications of an undergraduate degree.
- Student Members are individuals who are undergraduate or graduate students who are (or desire to be) actively engaged in earthquake engineering research, education, or implementation. They must be committed to the goals of the Consortium.
- Corporate Members must be an engineering consulting firm, professional trade organization, and/or a stakeholder organization, who may or may not sponsor seismic research. They must be committed to the goals of the NEES Consortium and have their principal location in the United States.
- Institutional Members must be colleges or universities, research institutes, governmental agencies, or professional and educational non- profit organizations. They must be committed to the goals of the NEES Consortium and have their principal location in the United States.
- Equipment Site Members are institutions that host an NSF-funded NEES Equipment Site. Therefore, this category of membership is not open to other organizations or to individuals.
Note that individuals affiliated with Institutional/Equipment Site Members are encouraged to separately apply for membership as Individual Members. The designated representative of an Institutional/Equipment Site Members casts only certain votes; Individual Members enjoy additional voting rights and opportunities.
